Synology Anyconnect Download
Each Client VPN Access License allows one concurrent user account to use Synology SSL VPN, WebVPN, and SSTP, with permanent validity upon activation. Every VPN Plus supported Synology product comes with one free license. To add more concurrent user accounts, you can purchase and install additional licenses.
You can assign permissions to more user accounts than installed licenses. All the accounts are given access on a first-come, first-served basis. When the license quota is reached, no more accounts will be given access until other accounts are disconnected from all of Synology SSL VPN, WebVPN, and SSTP services.
Once a user account is connected to VPN Plus and starts using any of the three features, it will be allowed to use any of the other features on the same or different devices at once without extra licenses.
For the maximum number of concurrent connections for each VPN Plus supported product, please refer to the specifications of each model.
VPN Plus Client VPN Access License cannot be transferred to another Synology product.
Purchase
Log in to SRM as administrator, go to VPN Plus Server > License > Client VPN Access, and click Add License. A wizard will guide you through the purchase procedure. Once completed, the license keys will be activated on your Synology product within 24 hours. Internet connection is required during the entire process.
One license key can be activated on only one VPN Plus supported Synology product.
Synology Account
A Synology Account is required for purchasing and using Client VPN Access License. The information and status of the activated licenses will be synced with your Synology Account.
If you log out of Synology Account on your product, the licenses will be temporarily suspended until your next login.

In this lesson, I want to show you how to configure an Etherchannel between your Cisco Catalyst Switch and a Synology NAS device. I’m using a Cisco 3560X switch and a Synology DS812+ rackstation that has two gigabit interfaces. The Synology NAS and the Cisco switch both support LACP (Link Aggregation Control Protocol).
Here’s what it looks like:
Configure LACP on Synology NAS
My Synology is connected to Gigabit 0/37 and 0/38 on the Cisco switch. First we’ll configure the Synology NAS. Log into your NAS and open the control panel, select Network.

Select the Network Interface tab and click on Create.
Select IEEE 802.3ad Dynamic Link Aggregation and click Next.

Select the interfaces that you want to use for the Etherchannel. I only have two Gigabit interfaces so I’ll select both. Click Next to continue.
Last step is to configure your IP address. I don’t have to make any changes so just click Apply to continue.
Your Synology NAS is now ready for LACP. We still have to configure the Cisco switch however…
Configure LACP on Cisco Switch
Let’s configure the Gi0/37 and Gi0/38 interface as an Etherchannel using the LACP protocol:
I will assign a description to both interfaces so I know what device is connected to these interfaces. The switchport mode is access and “nonegotiate” disables the negotiation for trunk / access mode. Portfast is enabled so we don’t have to wait for spanning-tree to unblock the port and I’m adding this interface to channel-group 3.
Once you assign the interfaces to the port-channel, you will see that the switch creates a new port-channel interface. I will also configure this interface for access mode and disable the negotiation for access/trunk switchport mode. After configuring the interfaces you will see the following on your console:
