As for the hybrid: Well, the internal combustion engine makes 96 hp and 104 lb-ft of torque but gets help from a 53-kW electric motor that adds another 120 lb-ft of twist to the driveline. Developed under the mantra of “Corolla meets SUV,” you can easily see how the current Corolla’s styling direction is massaged to make it look like the rest of Toyota’s crossover lineup. Effectively, it looks like the folks at Toyota’s design studio blended elements of the RAV4 and the Corolla. The grille looks like an enlarged version of what we see on the RAV4, accented by headlights that look inspired by those of the Corolla.

The official word from Toyota reads, “At this time, no decisions or announcements have been made with regard to this vehicle coming to the U.S.” Toyota did mention that the Corolla Cross, while launching in the Thai market, will make its way to other select markets in the future.
